Go The Extra Mile With Autel Robotics At The 2023 Emergency Tech Show

Dear Autel Robotics Customers,

We wanted to provide you with some important updates regarding the certification requirements for our drones and the upcoming changes in accordance with EU Drone Regulations. Here's what you need to know:

We are pleased to announce that the EVO Max Series V2* has obtained the C5 certification, which marks a major milestone for Autel Robotics in adhering to the European Drone Regulation (EU) 2019/945 (R945) and provides users with expanded operational opportunities within the Specific Category.

With the C5 Class Mark, remote pilots and operators are technically qualified to conduct operations in the Specific Category, Standard Scenarios STS-01. To fly in this scenario, remote pilots and operators need to complete the required training and examinations and meet the requirements set by their National Aviation Authority. Please check your National Aviation Authority’s website to find out how to receive this training and exam. The training can be undertaken in any EASA Member State. Regarding the description of STS-01 scenario, please refer to the EASA website:

In undertaking the rigorous demands to meet the C5 Class requirements, Autel Robotics worked with Applus+, an independent and officially designated Notified Body. Applus+ carried out conformity assessments confirming that the EVO Max Series V2 meets all C5 Class requirements, enabling Autel Robotics to affix the C5 Class Mark.

In order to verify the certification of EVO Max Series V2 you can visit the Applus+ website:

The EVO Max Series V2 currently holds C2 certification, to obtain C5 certification, it requires a firmware update along with the installation of additional safety equipment, including the parachute system and FTS module. Regarding the C5 certification, Autel Robotics is preparing the corresponding software updates, and further information will be released soon.

As Autel Robotics pioneers the way with the C5 certification for the EVO Max Series V2, drone operators can look forward to enhanced opportunities for professional, compliant operations under EU drone regulations. The C5 certification underscores Autel Robotics' dedication to delivering advanced technology while ensuring strict adherence to industry standards and regulatory best practice.

Stay tuned for further updates as we continue to work with EU-designated Notified Bodies to obtain additional drone certifications.

Note:

* Please note that C5 kit is only compatible with the EVO Max V2 series and is not compatible with the EVO Max series.
